Today was so amazing day, because we visited   magic place. The  Samanid  mausoleum is located in the historical urban nucleus of the city of Bukhara, in a park laid out on the site of an ancient cemetery. The mesmerizing tomb of Ismael Samani is an architectural bolt from the blue. The oldest, best preserved and most breathtakingly original building in Bukhara, it is without doubt oneof the architectural highlights of any visit to Uzbekistan. This mausoleum in Samani Park, completed in 905, is the town’s oldest Muslim monument and probably its sturdiest architecturally. According to the legend, the founder of Samanids dynasty, Ismail Samanid, built this mausoleum for the father. Later this building became the family burial-vault of all Samanids. Presumably, Ismail himself, who died in 907, and his grandson Nasr II ibn Ahmad, who died in 943 and whose name was found on the wood plate above the entrance, were buried here. from the founder of the dynasty, Ismael, a...

It’s blacksmithing, dyeing, silk weaving, wood carving and others.    Rites of initiation into masters Young people learn from the masters all the tricks and intricacies and then become masters. There’s particular rites of initiation into masters that is very interested for tourists. This rite takes place in a solemn and festive atmosphere.  Parents present robe and belt for master, because he has prepared young artists to work independently and adjusted to a positive result.   rites are also carried out in silk weaving, but in this case the master puts on the disciple robe and ties it with a gauze bandage (about 5-6 meters). In addition, as a sign of blessing, the student receives the tools and material. Moreover, the loom is set in the workshop of a new student.  Magic...

Today was so amazing day for me because our journey was in Art museum. The museum is filled with a mix of Russian and Uzbek masters of realist and impressionist painting as well as some more contemporary pieces including by some now famed in the Nukus Savitsky Museum. There are also a small collection of jewelry, some sculptures, a wing that appears to be devoted to local contemporary artists (nice work). It appears there are several wings I didn't get to see due to closing hours. It also has a room with paintings and sculptures for sale by local artists. The Director very kindly admitted me even though it was closing early for the day and escorted me through the collection. He speaks Uzbek and Russian primarily. This collection is fine and I wish it was better advertised and appeared in more guidebooks so people could give it the visits it deserves The building was constructed in 1912 by the local masters Hoji Abdurahim Hayatov and Abduĝafor Karaulbegi under the guidance of the Ru...

Today was our 3rd practice lesson, and our trip was in Ark. As can be understood from previous parts, Bukhara has always been the city of merchants and clerics. But also, all these centuries Ark was hovering over the trading city - the "Bukhara Kremlin", an impregnable Khan citadel on a lone high hill with fortified slopes. In the previous chapter we crossed the Poy-Kalian Square and reached Ark's foot, now we will enter to the abode of the Bukhara nobility. Bukhara boasts many architectural and archaeological monuments. And the most ancient one is a fortress Ark that is located on an artificial hill high, about 20 meters its size and the square of 4. 2 hectares. Ark fortress is a colossal citadel that was built in the V century BC in Bukhara. It was used not only as a fortress for its intended purpose, but also as the main residence of the rulers of Bukhara for many centuries. All the buildings at the Ark refer to XVII-XX and while the Ark served as the seat of the ruler...
